People always asking me why I'm cycling in Jakarta? Probably most crowded and polluted streets in the World.
My answer is simple: "I have the fastest possible communication way in Jakarta!!!" 2 times faster than motorcycle. Ands 5 times faster ...than car!
Example: Pondok Indah (South Jakarta) to Tanjung Priok (North). 25 km. 5 hours by car. 2 hours by motocycle. 1 hour by bike!!!!
And on top of this almost entirely out of saturated, noisy and full exhaust gases Main Axes.
How is it possible?
Jalan Tikus. Rat streets! The dense labyrinth network of path, tracks and narrow streets. Too narrow for cars. And mostly too narrow for motorcycles. Always empty. No crowded. Full of smiling people. Wandering kids, chickens, cats, and ... rats :))
