Jakarta-Malang-Bromo. Crazy biking trip. 1250 km (780 Miles). Longest non stop stage in my life!

Jakarta-Malang-Bromo 1250 km (780 Miles). 76 hours

Only 5 stages: (100+100+200+750 +100).

1. Jkta-Puncak 100km, 8 hours

2. Puncak-Bandung 100km, 6 hours

3. Bandung - Purwokerto, 200 km, 12 hours.

4. Purwokerto - Malang, 750 km, 44 hours (750 km! 44 hours!That's The longest non stop bike ride I ever made!!!!).

5. Malang -  Bromo, 100km, up-hill from 400 to 2400m!, 4 hours up 2 hours down.

All in mountains! (3 times from 0 to 1 000 m, one time by mistake!!!! to 2 500 m in Trenggalek Mountain.). Only short technical stops. Few minutes. Fluids exchanges. And closing eyes for max 10 minutes. Kind of Brain reset. Very efficient! I was extremely Tired, Sick (stomach, sore throat, jet-lag), completely Wet (rainy season, tropical storm every day).

But I did it.

I had a very good equipment this time. Light and performant. Perfect bike. Scott Scale Ltd 26" EIGER Back-pack. Very light. And (finally!!!!) fully water-resistant!!! 

But some of equipment. Big shit! New Garmin Edge 1000 GPS. Dead because of water! Fuck! It was Supposed to resist! Put me in the a very big trouble in Trenggalek !!!

Crazy story. Fucking Trenggalek mountain!!!

Doing my biking trip. Fourth stage. Started in Purwokerto. I was lost in Trenggalek regency.

I wanted to see some beaches on the south coast of Java. So from Yogyakarta I was following the coast.

Then  I simply wanted to shortcut from sea coast to Nationale no 3. Wanted to reach Malang in easiest way.

Then I got stormy rain. My GPS was dead. And my mobile phone out of network! I didn't know where I was. So I had chosen a narrow road to Trenggalek. For me logically it was the shortest way to reach N 3. I thought it would be maximum 25 km flat off-road track.

A BIG MISTAKE!!! A HUGE MISTAKE!!!

I didn't know that the Trenggalek was one of biggest mountains in the area! 2 500 m! Bigger than Bromo!

My nice road was rapidly going up. But I thought, that it would be only a small hill! And not! Not a hill! But a HELL!!! Very stiff UP-HILL!!!!

The narrow road was twistring like crazy. And always up! up! up! up!

Dark. Middle of the night. Heavy storm.

After every turn I was praying and hoping that this would be the end of the up-hill! 

Instead of 20 km simple shortcut. Instead of 1 hour easy trip I lost 7 hours!

After already seriously tired on this longest non stop stage in my life!!!!

I was supposed to reach Malang at noon. And lost another night! And finally I arrived to Malang next

morning.
